BozMo is somebody called Andrew Cates...I have lots of opinions on things but am generally laid back when people disagree with me. I find Google's nofollow thing rather odd for example. Google is going to a lot of trouble to try to crack obscure Javascript redirects in websites which do not want to give away google points but is now apparently encouraging people to use a script whose only purpose seems to be to give a search engine a different impression than the one given to human surfers. Isn't that the opposite of what is required to get the web to work? Now everyone will put a nofollow on their site to preserve its google ranking and the whole methodology is in question. Bizarrely though I think Simple Wikipedia probably should have nofollow because not enough people edit it to make it reliable.

Other things I have opinions on are Maths (which I read at Cambridge), theology (ditto), the game of Go (which I play), and charities like the one I work for. Oh, and Oil companies and their reserves as I used to work for one of those. I like WikiPedia but it is at its weakest on "common misconceptions" which keep getting put back to wrong by new arrivals in a given discussion.

Please visit six months after the tsunami (http://www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk/sos-children-charity/six-months-after-the-tsunami.htm)

BozMo is one of those involved in the fixed regular static copies at: fixed reference (http://fixedreference.org) English WikiPedia 24 April 04 (http://fixedreference.org/en/20040424/wikipedia/Main_Page) Simple WikiPedia 1 May 04 (http://fixedreference.org/simple/20040501/wikipedia/Main_Page) WikiPedia Francais 27 Juillet 2004 (http://july.fixedreference.org/fr/20040727/wikipedia/Accueil)

These have been generated from the downloads not by botting the actual site since we are ultra-compliant (even flagging intention to do so on copyright page for a month before we started)!!! However they are probably imperfect: let me know if you see any bugs. The plus of a fixed version is that it does enable me to say, for example, that I wrote the simple Maths (http://july.fixedreference.org/simple/20040724/wikipedia/Mathematics) intro without worrying if it is still there, and that I think it is better than the main en Maths (http://fixedreference.org/en/20040424/wikipedia/Mathematics) version.

I hope people will find these copies useful. At present besides the Pedia always being down or very slow, it is extremely difficult for those interested in studying the evolution of WikiPedia to get working (locked) copy at past dates. Is WikiPedia converging or falling apart? The fixed copies will also allow reference to versions of articles with certainty they have not changed.

It is intended to leave those versions there permanently intact for reference (although dodgy pages will be taken out please alert me on my talk pages here), and add to them every couple of months.

On other things my homepage is Andrew Cates (http://www.catesfamily.org.uk/) and I am amathematician (http://www.catesfamily.org.uk/maths-corner.html)/ theologian (http://www.catesfamily.org.uk/letter-to-peter/) who works for a charity (http://www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk/children-charity.htm) which helps Aids Africa children (http://www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk/sos-children-charity/children-aids-africa.htm), street children (http://www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk/sos-children-charity/street-children.htm) child soldiers (http://www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk/sos-children-charity/child-soldiers.htm) and sponsored children (http://www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk/sos-children-charity/sponsor-a-child.htm)

BozMo got told off (very politely) early on for being too bold in editing and so now tries to leave things on talk pages for a bit before stick his oar in. He is a linguistic pedant and hopes this doesn't irritate anyone!BozMo will watch his talk page but the easiest way to contact him is via the obvious email address from his christian name and the homepage address

I really like old cartoons and have put some up here Punch Archive (http://john-leech-archive.org.uk). I have lots of favourites. Anyone with older sisters should like this (http://john-leech-archive.org.uk/1852/son-and-heir.htm).

He is trying to sort out the inconsistencies on year pages as his main occupation at present. He also likes just surfing and spotting missing links.
