Cun (or cun, with a small 'c') is a pseudonym used by me, Vegard Ottervig (born 1 February 1985 in Lørenskog, Akershus, Norway). Currently lives in Lillestrøm, Skedsmo, Norway. Cun is an abbreviation of Cuneax (or cuneax), which again is a sort of an acronym for something else. I discovered Wikipedia early in 2004 and realized in June the same year that Wikipedia is the Internet on its best, therefore becoming a member.

I'm not among the most productive contributors, but I hope that will change in the future. I mostly like to read a lot on Wikipedia. There is so much to read! There is also so much special information gathered here you can not find anywhere else on the web.

Compulsory military service

Was summoned to complulsory military service in the army section of the Military of Norway from August 2004 to August 2005. Left the army in October 2004.

Current

Currently working at a grocery store in Lillestrøm, former Rimi now turned into ICA Nær.

Future education

Possibly attending to the NTNU, (a university in Trondheim) in the bachelor of political science from the fall of 2005.

Language skills

Speaks Norwegian and English, studied French and are still learning, planning to learn to speak Russian.

Tips

After being member of Wikipedia for a while, I've gained what some people call experience. In order to make the day easier for yourself and other users, I have some standard tips to you:

• First, use the Show preview button often instead of saving all the time when editing an article. It's easier to control one edit by one user instead of ten edits by one user in a short period of time.
• Second, if you are making a longer edit, make sure you have a backup of the text saved continuously on your own computer in case something goes wrong with your Internet browser. Most appropriate is utilizing Notepad, Microsoft Word or something similar. In fact, I'm using this method right now!
• Third, if you're going to seriously expand an article, take your time and use good sources, e.g. using books by acknowledged historians as a reference when editing an article about history.
• Fourth, in doubt of what style your writing manner should have, read other articles and recognize the line of style you will find. Featured articles are great examples.
• Fifth, read carefully through your edit in the preview before saving, as you most likely will find some error or something to change.
• Sixth, don't care if no one is ever going to read the article you contributed to. The most important thing is to make knowledge free to the world. Remember that!
