My name is Barney Boo (yes, really) - I'm 16, follow the straight edge lifestyle and live in Glenrothes, Scotland (you know, that lump stuck on top of England). My birthday's August 15th, so be sure to send me money etc. I have no life....my interests are random, odd, and really quite disturbing...much like me. I use Windows XP, because contrary to the opinions of most geeks I don't hate Microsoft that much. Everytime I stick Linux on another partition (to satisfy my inner geek, I dunno?) I get bored of it after a week. But don't worry, I use Firefox! :P I joined Wikipedia in March 2004, and have contributed steadily since.

Education

I've completed seven years of Primary School in Glenrothes, and am currently in my fifth year of six at High School. Last year, in my Standard Grade exams I achieved six grade 1s and two grade 2s. I am now in the middle of taking exams for English, Maths, Computing, Graphic Communication and Business Management at Higher level.

Work in Progress

Just got round to starting the television presentation article - has a long way to go to be as succinct as I'd like it, so if you have knowledge in that field please help. Trying to explain necessary terminology without sounding like a glossary is proving difficult.

• more articles stemming out of TV Pres. ECPs, DOGs all need explanation (in main TV pres article - or out? how to approach?)
• take list of video games and make/fill articles for as many games as i'm personally familiar with.
• xbox info + xbox live - can it be pumped up anymore?
• i think some more articles on mmf and clickteam are needed (rest of kilk range too)

Contributions

My contributions started off mainly regarding shopping channels - I spawned most of the articles for sit-up's range, as well as minor edits for other channels such as QVC. My interest in shopping television diminished somewhat during May 2004, so I no longer have any real focus. I tend to fix typos as I stumble across them, and small contributions to articles I have some knowledge in. Perhaps I should start concentrating on video games.....articles, that is. I usually start of at Recent Changes, and really just work around Wikipedia, reporting back to find more changes to make.

Contributions Policy

I rarely start new articles, because I rarely know enough to start them. The exceptions are limited, including bid-up.tv and price-drop.tv (later merged into sit-up Ltd) which were my main focus for a while. If I see a stub, I mark it, and don't usually follow up on destubbing it - I really should though. I didn't used to participate in the VfD process at all, but lately I vote on most nominations I encounter, and occasionally put my own up. I think I might start going through pages listed as cleanups since I quite enjoy that :p

Interests

My main interests boil down to all things computers. This branches off into computer programming (more specifically games programming) as well as 3D graphics and other graphic design. I love playing games - I'm a loyal follower of the Xbox, and I can be found frequently on Xbox Live under the name Barney Boo. I play pretty much any video games, but more recently have taken up bemani in an attempt to find at least one physical activity I enjoy. I also have a strange interest in television presentation, which has often inspired me to create my own mock designs of 'TV pres'. Music also means a lot to me - I'm interested in a huge number of bands, including NOFX, Millencolin, The Offspring, Reel Big Fish, Rancid, Green Day and more. Although ideally I would be able to play the guitar, I don't.
