USS Bainbridge

Five ships of the United States Navy have been or will be named USS Bainbridge, after William Bainbridge, a notable commodore of the early Navy.
- The first Bainbridge was a 12-gun brig commissioned in 1842 and lost off Cape Hatteras in 1863. She participated in the Paraguay expedition.
- The second Bainbridge (DD-1) was the first destroyer of the Navy, serving from 1902 to 1919.
- The third Bainbridge (DD-246) was also a destroyer, commissioned in 1920 and sold in 1945.
- The fourth Bainbridge (DLGN-25/CGN-25) was a nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser in service from 1962 to 1996.
- The fifth Bainbridge (DDG-96) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer, launched in 2004.
