Trinidad is a city located in Henderson County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,091.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 39.1 km² (15.1 mi²). 38.5 km² (14.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.52% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,091 people, 430 households, and 297 families residing in the city. The population density is 28.3/km² (73.4/mi²). There are 474 housing units at an average density of 12.3/km² (31.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 83.13% White, 13.02% African American, 0.55% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.47% from other races, and 0.82% from two or more races. 6.60% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 430 households out of which 34.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.2% are married couples living together, 17.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.7% are non-families. 28.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.54 and the average family size is 3.14.
In the city the population is spread out with 29.5% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 25.5% from 25 to 44, 20.6% from 45 to 64, and 15.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 89.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 81.8 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $26,379, and the median income for a family is $35,568. Males have a median income of $28,438 versus $18,958 for females. The per capita income for the city is $14,270. 16.0% of the population and 15.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 20.2% of those under the age of 18 and 20.4% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
