Pokédex definition
Ruby: "Treecko has small hooks on the bottom of its feet that enable it to scale vertical walls. This Pokémon attacks by slamming foes woith its thick tail."
In-game details
Picking this Pokémon as a starter is categorized as choosing a "Medium-Easy" difficulty level for the game because the first gym leader uses Pokémon whose type is weak against Treecko's. However, it is important to not forget that Treecko is weak against Flying-type Pokémon, which are highly common and also the 6th gym leader's specialty.
In the anime
In the pokémon anime, one thing that characterizes Ash Ketchum's Treecko in particular is the fact that he always puts a small twig in his mouth.
Ash's Treecko evolves into Grovyle in the episode "Exploud and Clear!", which recently aired in the US.
