Town 'n' Country is an unincorporated census-designated place located in Hillsborough County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 72,523.
Geography
Town 'n' Country is located at 28°0'36" North, 82°34'22" West (28.010046, -82.572815)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 63.2 km² (24.4 mi²). 61.3 km² (23.7 mi²) of it is land and 1.9 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.03% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 72,523 people, 28,870 households, and 18,707 families residing in the community. The population density is 1,183.0/km² (3,063.5/mi²). There are 30,720 housing units at an average density of 501.1/km² (1,297.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the community is 78.48% White, 7.89% African American, 0.36% Native American, 3.28% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 6.96% from other races, and 2.95% from two or more races. 28.97% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 28,870 households out of which 30.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.0% are married couples living together, 12.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.2% are non-families. 26.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
