Islamic vis a vis Mughal
Hi, - - Your contributions to India related pages are very valuable and positive. However, I wish you would follow convention and bring sensitive issues to the talk page first before editing the main page. Thanks. KRS 11:51, 4 Apr 2004 (UTC) - P.S. Re your edit in India- Islamic/ Muslim does not necessarily refer to the religion but to culture too. Islamic culture has influenced India a lot, so it is not right to refer to this influence specifically as Mughal. KRS 11:51, 4 Apr 2004 (UTC) ::LordSuryaofShropshire, I was not trying to be politically correct in appreciating your contributions before going on to a touchy issue. Coming from different backgrounds there is bound to be a difference of opinion. In spite of that some common ground of truth can hopefully be arrived at. KRS
- I still have a difference of opinion with you regarding Islam and Mughal. Maybe I don't know much about music, so I will not get into a war over that. If you mean to say that Hindustani music is specifically influenced by the Mughals, I wouldn't know for sure. But I do know that in the field of architecture, Islamic culture in various forms had its influences, the most glorious of which, of course, is the Mughal. So it is incorrect to attribute all Islamic influences as Mughal.
- BTW, one politically correct piece of advice(not in a deferential or condescending tone:-)), it is generally considered bad form to delete comments on your talk page. KRS 15:45, 6 Apr 2004 (UTC)
I am sorry, I was not aware of any request about open NPOV talk about India. It is sometimes a practice to take trivial edits to the user talk page. Since you don't like it, in future I will most definitely not intrude into your talk space. KRS 16:45, 6 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Aryan theories
If you want to discuss the Aryan theories here, I don't have any problem.
Hi, I am surprised about your edit of the page on Pakistan where in the entry "* Pakistan has the great honour of having some of the most important Sikh historical temples on its soil. See Gurdwaras in Pakistan" you removed "the great honour of having" - This entry was not put in by a Pakistani but by a Sikh and I can assure you that to have some of the most import shrines for the Sikhs in any country is a honour for that Country. How about having the place of birth of Jesus in a country - Is that not a honour for that country! - and that does not make this point unNPOV. I am not going to get into an entrenched position on this point but I hope you will accept that for any religious community, these places of tremendous historic importance do have special significance. An appeal for ceasefire
It's none of my business really.. But can you please try and tone it down in Talk:India? I have nothing to say if or if not India can be called Hindustan, but I believe talk pages are meant for discussing one's opinions on articles and not mud-slinging on one's supposed knowledge or supposed qualifications and counter-attacks on these insinuations. In wikipedia, even one's own talk page needs to be maintained with a sense of decorum - simply because nobody owns the page. Kindly remember that nothing on wikipedia ever gets deleted unilaterally, and I am sure this is not something that either of you would be proud of, really. If you were willing to listen to me (you have no reason to, except may be if you would like to listen to some neutral opinion), can you just give this issue a breather or at least take it offline and finish your business privately ? Recent posting on Pakistan Page
Jah Sri Krishna.
Thank you for responding to my post - I accept your understanding of the situation and will leave the post, as you prefer it. However, I think there is a need to further strengthen the database of eastern terminology and it would be very welcomed and pleasing to have some support on some of these Eastern words like Bhai, Prabu, Maya(better detail), Sahib, Ji(India def), etc, etc.
Nomination for Hinduism
Don't forget to place the appropriate message at the top of the Hinduism page to indicate that it is a FA nominee. We wouldn't want brilliant prose to not be commented on for lack of awareness, would we? :) Wally 20:41, 12 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Ceasefire
Based on your sincere tone on the last edit, I agree to a truce. I only want an immediate answer as I won't be in the city for a couple of days. Nichalp 19:25, Apr 13, 2004 (UTC)
Accepted
I got LOTS catching up to do with you, I researched a lot on you, u know. Since I have limited time in Bombay, I will catch up with you over the weekend. As for now, I suggest you archive our "Big fight". As for your name, I have Arial Unicode. However UTF-8 does not seem to give the "eay matra". Anyways, goodbye for now. I'll sign off by putting a link saying that the debate is over in the India talk page. I suggest you do the same. Nichalp 19:49, Apr 13, 2004 (UTC)
