Stephen Hesford
|
Stephen Hesford (born 27 May 1957) is a politician in the United Kingdom. He is Labour Party member of Parliament for Wirral West in Merseyside, and was first elected in 1997. He had previously been a barrister. During the 2005 election campaign he was condemned in the Telegraph Newspaper for labeling his Conservative opponent, former TV presenter Esther McVey, a "blonde bimbo". Mr Hesford then went on to accuse her of going into politics merely in order to "get back on television". Most damning of all, he warns that she is "38, single and unmarried". All this in a "clean" election fight.
