Sky News Australia is a 24-hour television news channel in Australia. It is owned - one third each - by Publishing and Broadcasting Limited, the Seven Network, and BSkyB. The channel is available in Australia on the Foxtel platform (Foxtel, Austar & Optus Vision), many smaller Australian pay TV services, and on Sky Television in New Zealand. It is usually available in the basic cable packages of the various operators in Australia.
The news service alternates between Australian news (on the hour), with other bulletins from BSkyB in the UK, or ABC and CBS in the US, on the half hour. In New Zealand, where it is branded as Sky News Australia New Zealand, TV3 provides a news bulletin at 8.30pm local time, and Question Time from Parliament at 2.00pm on sitting days. SKY originally broadcast Sky News from the UK.
With the roll-out of Foxtel Digital, Sky News Australia launched the "News Active" interactive news service.
