Sigrid Thornton

Sigrid Thornton (born 12 February, 1959) is an Australian actress who is noted for her roles in the films The Man from Snowy River (1982) and Return to Snowy River (1988) and on the stage in a early 2000s production of The Blue Room. She also appeared in numerous Australian mini-series during the 1980s and 1990s, and her leading role as Laura Joy Gibson in the Australian television series SeaChange (1998 - 2000) brought renewed stardom.
Thornton will next be seen on television in July playing a brilliant geneticist in a four-part storyline on MDA, and then in 2006 in Little Oberon, a role for which she shaved her head.
