Scottish Television
|
Scottish Television is Scotland's largest independent television station, and has held the ITV franchise for Central Scotland since 1957. The studios are located on Renfield Street in Glasgow. The channel is now owned by the Scottish Media Group (SMG), which also owns Scotland's other independent television station, Grampian, based in Aberdeen.
Scottish TV produces news and current affairs programmes (in both English and Gaelic) for its transmission region, as well as for the whole of Scotland. It is the main rival to the publicly-funded broadcaster, BBC Scotland.
