Sandy Creek is a town located in Oswego County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,863. The name is derived from a stream in the area.
The Town of Sandy Creek is in the northwest part of the county and was formed from the Town of Richland in 1825. There is a village of Sandy Creek in the town.

Geography
The west border of Sandy Creek is Lake Ontario and the north border is Jefferson County, New York.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 120.5 km² (46.5 mi²). 109.5 km² (42.3 mi²) of it is land and 11.1 km² (4.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 9.17% water.
Interstate highway 81 passes through the town.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 3,863 people, 1,543 households, and 1,064 families residing in the town. The population density is 35.3/km² (91.4/mi²). There are 2,607 housing units at an average density of 23.8/km² (61.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.27% White, 0.10% Black or African American, 0.36% Native American, 0.10% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.18% from other races, and 0.98% from two or more races. 0.47% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,543 households out of which 31.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.1% are married couples living together, 9.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.0% are non-families. 25.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.50 and the average family size is 2.97.
In the town the population is spread out with 26.0% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 26.0% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 100.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.7 males.

- Sandy Pond -- A hamlet at the south end of North Pond.
- Sandy Pond Corners -- A location east of Sandy Pond, located on Route 3.
- South Pond -- A pond south of North Pond.
