Salem Township is a township located in Olmsted County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 1,061. The township hall is located at the intersection of County Road 25 (Salem Road) and County Road 3 at a place known as Salem Corners.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 92.5 km² (35.7 mi²). 92.5 km² (35.7 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,061 people, 399 households, and 308 families residing in the township. The population density is 11.5/km² (29.7/mi²). There are 409 housing units at an average density of 4.4/km² (11.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 98.87% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.28% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.19% from other races, and 0.66% from two or more races. 0.19% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
