Rush

Rush may refer to any of the following:
- In general it implies something that happens hurriedly or hastily, or an activity entailing unusually rapid flow of people or things at quantity (see Wiktionary: Rush).
- Rush is a Canadian rock band, and their self-titled album, Rush.
- Rushing in American football.
- In botany it is a semiaquatic grass-like plant of the family Juncaceae.
- Also called an adrenaline rush, it is an energetic and slighly euphoric feeling that occurs when something scary or dangerous happens. Recreational drugs can bring on or intensify this kind of rush.
- The Chicago Rush is an Arena Football League team.
- In fraternities and sororities it is a regulated period of new member recruitment. Sometimes the regulated period is termed formal rush and the general term extended to the overall process or concept of new member recruitment. The term is also used to refer to the "orientation" period at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where freshmen choose their dormitory (and until the fallout from Scott Krueger's death, they could choose a fraternity or sorority).
- In music, it means to play faster than the indicated tempo. Rushing is usually accidental and undesirable.
- In real-time strategy computer games, a rush is a fast attack at the beginning of a game.
- In poker, a winning streak usually characterized by a sequence of unusually lucky cards.
- Rush is the title of two movies, both about drugs:
