Rush (album)
|
Rush, released in 1974, was Rush's first album. Compared to their following albums, Rush has a more bluesy Zeppelin-ish sound. Songs like "Before And After" and "Here Again" demonstrate this style, while "Working Man" and "What You're Doing" resemble the typical 1970s rock style.
Original drummer John Rutsey, unwilling to tour, left the band after this album was released. He was replaced by Neil Peart whose talented lyrical contributions helped the evolution of the band starting with their second album Fly by Night.
Originally this album was released on Moon Records (MN 100) and has become quite sought after by collectors as reportedly only 1000 copies were pressed before Rush was signed by Mercury Records (SRM 1-1011). The original letters were not pinkish, but were more orange in colour.
