Peace, Love, Death Metal is the debut album for The Eagles of Death Metal released on March 23, 2004.
Making of the album
The Eagles of Death Metal is a garage rock band consisting of J. Everett Huge the songwriter, bassist and singer, Timmy Van Hamel the guitarist and Josh Homme on drums. While Huge is the leader of the band, Homme is its best known member due to his history as leader of Queens of the Stone Age and Kyuss. Van Hamel has been a member of Deus, Millionaire (band) and Evil Superstar.
Josh Homme told MTV News that the band is led by Huge. "I just sit behind the drums and play rock and roll, which is a great change of pace for me. J. Devil writes everything, every lyric and riff, and he's a fantastic songwriter. He and I go through and arrange them, and I lay down harmonies, but it's really his thing. It's the antithesis of the bloated rock-attitude bullsh-- I've had to deal with recently". Josh Homme promoted the band when appearing on the Lollapalooza tour in 2003 wearing a The Eagles of Death Metal t-shirt.
