Paschen's Law

Paschen's Law, named after Friedrich Paschen, was first stated in Wied. Ann., 37, 69 (http://www.luxfamily.com/hv/paschen.pdf) (in German), published in 1889. It states that the breakdown characteristics of a gap are a non-linear function of the product of the gas pressure and the gap distance:
