Odessa is a village located in Schuyler County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 617.
The Village of Odessa is in the Town of Catharine near the town line shared with the Town of Montour and at the junction of Routes 7, 15, 224, and 228.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.1 km² (1.2 mi²). 3.1 km² (1.2 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 617 people, 246 households, and 164 families residing in the village. The population density is 196.9/km² (509.1/mi²). There are 261 housing units at an average density of 83.3/km² (215.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 96.60% White, 0.81% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.62% from other races, and 0.81% from two or more races. 1.46% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 246 households out of which 34.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.4% are married couples living together, 12.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% are non-families. 29.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.46 and the average family size is 3.04.
