North Vancouver, British Columbia

Generally North Vancouver is the suburb of Vancouver on the north side of the Burrard Inlet, except the area that is in West Vancouver. North Vancouver is built on the side of the North Shore Mountains, which include Grouse Mountain and Mount Seymour. On the slopes of these are some world renowned bike trails and the North Shore is commonly featured in mountain bike films. It is also home to the renowned Grouse Grind hiking trail. a.k.a. "God's Stairmaster." North Vancouver extends roughly from the Capilano River on the west to Deep Cove on the east. Some of North Vancouver's local drinking establishments were immortalized in "The Crawl," a song by local folk-rock band Spirit of the West which recounts a pub crawl across the North Shore.
There are two municipalities in Greater Vancouver that use the name North Vancouver. These are:

- North Vancouver, British Columbia (district municipality) Pop. 82,310 (2001 Census)
North Vancouver is also a Federal Electoral District North Vancouver (electoral district)
