Mojo Nixon

Mojo Nixon (born August 2, 1957) is a satirical psychobilly musician. He was born Neill Kirby McMillan, Jr. in Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Nixon initially recorded with Skid Roper, who mostly provided instrumental backup. Their third album Bo-Day-Shus!!! contained the song "Elvis is Everywhere," a deification of Elvis Presley that is probably his best known song. He also frequently insulted contemporary celebrities such as MTV VJ Martha Quinn (in "Stuffin' Martha's Muffin"), Debbie Gibson and Rick Astley (in "Debbie Gibson is Pregnant With My Two-Headed Love Child"), Don Henley (in "Don Henley Must Die"), and David Geffen (in "Bring Me the Head of David Geffen"). Henley once appeared on stage with Nixon to perform "Don Henley Must Die," which won him Nixon's respect. Skid Roper left for a solo career in 1990. Since then Nixon has performed with Jello Biafra, as well as a new backup band, The Toadliquors.

Nixon chose his stage name because he felt they were two words which should never go together. He is a supporter of the Libertarian Party and has a degree in political science and history from Miami University in Ohio. He was also the honorary captain of the United States luge team at the 1998 Winter Olympics, and is currently a DJ at a radio station in San Diego. He has appeared in a few movies, all of which, according to Nixon, are "shitty."

In his own words, Mojo Nixon is presently "fat, fucked up, and forty-something."

Mojo Nixon officially retired from the music business in 2004, playing his last live show on March 20 of that year.

Mojo Nixon hosts a show on Sirius Satellite Radio's Outlaw Country channel from 4pm-8pm EST, Monday through Friday, and at 8pm on Saturday night.
