Midwestern State University is an accredited 4-year college, located in Wichita Falls, Texas with an estimated enrollment of 6480. Originally founded on September 1922 as Wichita Falls Junior College, it was moved to its current location in 1937, and renamed Hardin Junior College. In 1946, the college achieved senior status, and renamed as Hardin College, and renamed again in 1950 as Midwestern University. Becoming a state-supported university in 1961, the school's name was changed once more in 1975 to reflect this, finally becoming Midwestern State University.
Located halfway between Dallas/Fort Worth and Oklahoma City, the school's architecture features a red brick, arched façade with tiled roofs. The school's largest academic programs are business, health sciences, and education.
Midwestern State University has over 100 student organisations and 14 nationally affiliated fraternities and sororities, as well as eight intercollegiate NCAA Division II athletic teams, as well as several intramural sports teams.
