Marsaxlokk FC is a Maltese football club, playing in the town of Marsaxlokk.
The football club, initially known as Marsaxlokk White Stars FC, was formed on 3 November 1949 and adopted the current name in 1954. The club won a place in the 3rd Division of the Malta Football Association in 1955, playing regularly in the 3rd Division from 1965 with occasional promotions to the 2nd Division and regular relegations until 1990. The 1990s were spent in the 2nd Division, usually in a struggle to avoid relegation, but Marsaxlokk narrowly failed to win promotion to the 1st Division in 1992/93.
In the 1999/2000 season the club won promotion as 2nd Division champions, and after a struggle in its first season in the 1st Division, in 2001/02 the club won the 1st Division championship. In 2002/03 Marsaxlokk played in the Premier Division for the first time, obtaining a place in the Championship Pool. Further investment took place for the 2003/04 season, including obtaining three year contracts for Maltese national team captain David Carabott, and internationals David Camilleri and Malcolm Licari, and Lithuanian international player Donatas Vencevicius. The club was rewarded with 4th place in the League and runner-up position in the Trophy, giving the club the right to enter the qualifying round of the UEFA Cup for 2004/05. Unfortunately, the team was unsuccessful in its matches against the Slovenian team, NK Primorje, losing 1-0 at home and 2-0 in Slovenia.
