Second Australian Imperial Force
The 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th Divisions were the only Second Australian Imperial Force (2nd AIF) divisions to be fully formed and see active service in their entirety. Elements of the 1st Armoured Division also saw action. The 10th Division was a short-lived — and never fully-formed — 2nd AIF formation; none of its subsidiary units saw active service.
Militia
The other units listed above were Militia (reserve) units. The 3rd and 5th Divisions saw active service in their entirety, as did elements of some other Militia divisions, although most of these divisions were never fully formed.
