Kuroki Itei

Kuroki Tamemoto (黒木為楨 Kuroki Tamemoto; 1844-?) was a Japanese general.
Born in Satsuma, now part of the Kagoshima prefecture, he distinguished himself in the Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895). Later, he commanded the 1st Army in the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905), in which he won the opening battle at the Yalu river. Afterwards, he advanced through the mountains and took part in the battles of Liaoyang, Shaho and Mukden with the other Japanese armies. He was made a baron for his services in the first war, and then a count for his services in the second.
