Sydney (Kingsford Smith) International Airport, or Sydney Airport Template:Airport codes, is located in Mascot, New South Wales, and is the major airport serving Sydney, Australia. It is a major hub for Qantas. Originally declared an aerodrome in 1920, and known as Sydney Airport, in 1953 it was renamed Sydney (Kingsford Smith) International Airport, after Charles Kingsford Smith, a pioneering Australian aviator. Most locals refer to the airport as "Mascot".
Situated next to Botany Bay, it is accessible by road and train (on the Airport line, and this line continues to the central business district through Central station and the City Circle).
Kingsford Smith has three runways, colloquially the "East-West", and two "North-South" runways.
