It is directed by Peter Jackson, produced by Jackson and Fran Walsh and originally written by Merian C. Cooper and Edgar Wallace; and the screenplay is written by Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens. The cast includes Naomi Watts in the role of Ann Darrow and Jack Black as Carl Denham. The original score will be by Howard Shore. The movie is filmed in Miramar, New Zealand.
The movie is currently in production, and is expected to be released on December 14, 2005.
A video game is being made based on the move called Peter Jackson's King Kong.
