Judging Amy is a television program that premiered in 1999 on CBS and stars Amy Brenneman of NYPD Blue and Tyne Daly (of Cagney & Lacey). In the US, reruns air on the TNT cable channel.
Brenneman plays a family court judge and Daly plays a caseworker for State of Connecticut Department of Children and Family Services. Most of the show takes place in Hartford, Connecticut. In what turned out to be the series finale, Brenneman's character quits the judiciary and runs for the U.S. Senate.
After six seasons, the show was canceled by CBS on May 18, 2005. It still had solid ratings in its time slot, but the network felt the other pilots for the new season would garner even better ratings, especially among younger viewers.Template:Tvseries-stub
