Jack Losch

John "Jack" Losch (1935 - May 27, 2004) was a member of the first Little League Baseball World Series championship team.
He was the center fielder for Williamsport, Pennsylvania's Maynard Midgets when they clinched the first LLWS title against Lock Haven, Pennsylvania on August 23, 1947.
Losch went on to be an All-American in football at the University of Miami. He still holds 4 rushing records there. He was the 8th overall pick in the 1956 NFL draft by the Green Bay Packers, but played for only a year before joining the United States Air Force as a jet pilot. For 37 years, he was Director of Fleet Services at General Motors.
On June 10, Little League Baseball and Softball announced that the Little League World Series Team Sportsmanship Award will be named after Losch.
