Integrated circuit layout
|
Integrated circuit layout, also known IC layout or IC mask layout is the representation of an integrated circuit in terms of planar geometric shapes that correspond to shapes actually drawn on photomasks used in semiconductor device fabrication.
IC layout may be created by automatic EDA tools, such as place and route tools or schematic driven layout tools, or created and edited by an IC designer manually by means of IC layout editors. The later manual operation is informally known as "polygon pushing".
