ISO 3166-2:TV
is an ISO standard which defines geocodes: it is the subset of ISO 3166-2 which applies to
Tuvalu.
It covers the 8 atolls which make up the country.
The first part of the code is the ISO 3166-1 country code
for Tuvalu (TV), the second part is a three letter code based on the island name.
Status
The codes are currently not part of the ISO 3166-2 standard. They were present in a draft version (ISO/DIS 3166-2), but were withdrawn before the actual publishing as being "not relevant enough".
