ISO 3166-2:NZ
|
ISO 3166-2:NZ is an ISO standard which defines geocodes: it is the subset of ISO 3166-2 which applies to New Zealand.
It covers 16 regions, 9 in the North Island and 7 in the South Island. Some outlying islands do not lie within these regional boundaries and are not covered by this scheme. Of these, only the Chatham Islands have a permanent population.
The first part of the code is the ISO 3166-1 code NZ for New Zealand; the second part is three-digit-alphabetic.
