How High the Moon
|
"How High the Moon" is a song, now a jazz standard, by Nancy Hamilton (lyrics), Morgan Lewis (music).
How High The Moon was the working title of the BBC WW2 drama mini-series Seaforth, starring Linus Roach and Lia Williams.
Lyrics
The song's lyrics follow:
- "Somewhere there's music, how faint the tune
- Somewhere there's heaven, how high the moon
- There is no moon above and love is far away too
- 'Til it comes true
- That you love me and I love you
- "Somewhere there's music, how near how far
- Somewhere there's heaven, that's where you are
- The darkest night would shine if you would come to me soon
- Until you will, I'll still my heart, how high the moon
- "Somewhere there's music, how faint the tune
- Somewhere there's heaven, how high the moon
- The darkest night would shine if you would come to me soon
- Until you will, I'll still my heart, how high the moon"
Perhaps the most memorable version was sung in various recordings by Ella Fitzgerald.
