Hagåtña (formerly Agana) is the capital of Guam. According to the 2000 Census, it has a population of 160,000.
In 1998, the territorial legislature changed the name from Agana (pronounced (International Phonetic Alphabet)) to Hagåtña to more closely match the Chamorro/Chamoru pronunciation.
The city is served by Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport in Tamuning.
