HaQrayot
|
HaQrayot is an urban area in Israel, a conglomeration of five smaller towns located about 30km north of Haifa in the Haifa District, which as of 2003 contains:
- Qiryat Yam 38,000 people.
- Qiryat Motzkin 46,000 people.
- Qiryat Bialik 54,000 people.
- Qiryat Atta 60,000 people.
- Qiryat Haim 40,000 people. Qiryat Haim is within the municipal borders of the city of Haifa.
Many arrived after 1990, following the large aliyah from the collapsing Soviet Union.
In a few years all of the HaQrayot should be united into one big city with a population of about 250,000 people, which will make it one of the ten largest cities in Israel. Template:MEast-geo-stubhe:הקריות
