HMS Barfleur (D80) was a Battle-class destroyer of the Royal Navy (RN). She was named after the Battle of Barfleur, which took place between an Anglo-Dutch Fleet and the French in 1692. Barfleur was built by Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson Limited on the Tyne. She was launched on the on 1 November 1943 and commissioned on the on 14 September 1944.

Barfleur was the only ship of the class to see action during the Second World War, when she joined the British Pacific Fleet upon commission, seeing action during the campaign against Japan. She was present when Japan formally surrendered in Tokyo Bay on the deck of the American battleship USS Missouri in 1945. In 1946, Barfleur deployed to the Far East along with the rest of the 19th Destroyer Flotilla, performing a variety of duties, including visiting many ports, mostly on fly-the-flag visits. Barfleur, with the rest of the 19th Flotilla, returned to the UK in 1947 where she was subsequently placed in Reserve.

In 1953, Barfleur took part in the Fleet Review at Spithead in celebration of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Barfleur was positioned in the middle of St. Kitts and Crossbow. Also that, year, Barfleur became Captain (D) or Destroyer, of the 3rd Destroyer Flotilla, deploying to the Mediterranean. While in the Mediterranean, Barfleur was deployed to pick-up the survivors from a Handley Page Hastings which had crashed in the region. Barfleur subsequently completed this task, returning the aeroplane's crew to Malta.

In 1954, Barfleur along with the rest of the 3rd Flotilla, returned home to the UK. The following year, Barfleur deployed to the Mediterranean once again, and in 1956, Barfleur took part in the Suez Crisis, which had occurred in response to President Nasser's nationalisation of the canal. That same year, Barfleur, with the rest of the flotilla, joined the Home Fleet. In 1958, Barfleur was placed in Reserve again, though this time it would be the last. In 1960, she was placed on the disposal list and in 1966 was broken up at Dalmuir.
