Grand Forks International Airport
|
Grand Forks International Airport is an airport in Grand Forks, North Dakota (IATA code GFK, ICAO code KGFK). It is located on U.S. Highway 2 five miles west of Interstate 29. The airport is sometimes called Mark Andrews International Airport after Mark Andrews, a former US House Representative and Senator from North Dakota.
Customs service is available for aircraft arriving from Canada. As GFK has no scheduled passenger airline service out of the country, some people from larger cities claim it is not a "true" international airport. However, it is hardly uncommon for airports in both the northern and southern tiers to be called "International" -- the only requirement for the designation is customs service.
The airport is served by Northwest Airlines and Northwest Airlink, with several daily roundtrips to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
