Eurotas
|
Eurotas is the name of a river in the region of the Peloponnesus in Greece. It flows through the city of Sparta and empties into the Laconic Gulf. Historically, it was used as a transportation method by the Ancient Spartans as an alternative to their port located at Gytheion.
In Greek mythology, Eurotas was the brother of Lacedaemon and was also the father of Lacedaemon's wife, Sparta, according to Pausanias.
