Erik Pontopiddan (1698 - 1764) was a Danish prelate, historian and antiquary.
He was professor of Theology at Copenhagen in 1738, and bishop of Bergen in 1748. He wrote Natural History of Norway (1755) and the Danske Atlas (1763-81).
