East Randolph, New York

East Randolph is a village located in Cattaraugus County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 630.

The Village of East Randolph was incorporated in 1881. The village is adjacent to the northeast part of the Village of Randolph and is mostly within the Town of Randolph, with a small part inside the Town of Conewango.

The village is located on Routes 242 and 394.

Geography

East Randolph is located at 42°10'18" North, 78°56'55" West (42.171684, -78.948701)Template:GR.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.8 km² (1.1 mi²). 2.8 km² (1.1 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Elm Creek flows through the village.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 630 people, 198 households, and 154 families residing in the village. The population density is 223.2/km² (577.8/mi²). There are 213 housing units at an average density of 75.4/km² (195.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 92.86% White, 3.49% African American, 0.95% Native American, 0.95% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.48% from other races, and 1.27% from two or more races. 1.75% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 198 households out of which 34.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.1% are married couples living together, 12.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.2% are non-families. 20.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.66 and the average family size is 2.97.

In the village the population is spread out with 37.8% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 22.9% from 25 to 44, 21.0% from 45 to 64, and 11.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 105.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 84.9 males.

The median income for a household in the village is $42,292, and the median income for a family is $45,703. Males have a median income of $32,321 versus $17,625 for females. The per capita income for the village is $13,571. 10.8% of the population and 6.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 14.9% of those under the age of 18 and 1.5% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
