Allan Francis Doyle was a character in the fictional Buffyverse created by Joss Whedon, appearing in the first half of the first season of Angel. The character was portrayed by actor Glenn Quinn.
Doyle came to Angel who had just moved to Los Angeles after having said goodbye to Buffy in Sunnydale. He presented himself as a messenger from The Powers That Be, here to help Angel do good deeds and eventually make amends for all the acts he committed as the renowned vampire, Angelus.
To aid him in this mission, Doyle was given a gift of visions, which he described as "great splittin' migraines that come with pictures". He would receive a vision from the Powers if someone was suffering, and Angel would be dispatched to help.
Doyle had something of a fancy for Cordelia Chase, the other worker in Angel Investigations. He was too nervous, however, to voice these feelings, due in part to him being half-demon.
Doyle eventually gave his life to save others of his demon race, but before doing so he shared a final kiss with Cordelia, causing the gift of visions to pass over to her so that she could continue giving Angel the information he needed in his quest of "Helping the Helpless". Doyle's death mid-way through the first season angered many viewers. An unsuccessful "bring back Doyle" campaign persisted until Quinn's death.
In Season Five of Angel, Lindsey McDonald impersonated Doyle in an attempt to control Spike.
