Deives Valdytojos
|
In Lithuanian mythology, the Deivės Valdytojos (Lithuanian: managing goddesses) are goddesses who make garments of humans' lives. They are seven sisters: Verpiančioji (she who spins threads of life), Metančioji (she who throws rims of life), Audėja (she who weaves), Gadintoja (she who breaks), Sergėtoja (she who scolds Gadintoja, and makes inspiration of war for people), Nukirpėja (she who cuts the cloth of life), and Išskalbėja (she who launders). They have similarities with the Greek Fates and the Norse Norns. Deivės Valdytojos were associated with Dalia and Laima.
