David Bisbal (born June 5, 1979) is a Spanish singer. Bisbal is the second finalist of the reality show Operación Triunfo, which was won by Rosa, a show that would later be mirrored in the United States by Protagonistas De La Musica.
Bisbal was born in the city of Almeria, and he has two older siblings, a brother, José María Bisbal (born 1968) and a sister, María del Mar Bisbal (born 1971).
Bisbal left school because he did not like studying. Then, his parents found him a job. But Bisbal was becoming interested in music, and as he was singing at his job place, his talent was soon discovered and he was asked to audition for an orchestra, named Orquesta Expresiones.
Bisbal performed in an orchestra as a singer, leading to his participation in Operación Triunfo. Bisbal was signed up by record company Vale Music, which sent him to Miami to record his first CD album.
Bisbal's first album, Corazón Latino (Latin Heart), has been a smash hit in Spain and all over Latin America, so much that he had to schedule a 2002-2003 tour that has covered places such as the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and a good proportion of the rest of South America and Central America, as well as the United States. It is estimated Bisbal has already earned over one million US dollars in his career as a singer.
His second album is called Bulería, and it has been as big a hit as his first album (over 1 million copy sold in Spain, the n°1 album of the year 2004). His first DVD Todo por Ustedes recorded during his American tour, was launched in march 2005 and has also been the highest selling DVD for more than a month in Spain.
David Bisbal used to date the also famous Spanish singer, Rock and Roller Chenoa. The couple split, however, when David started to go out with the president of his fanclub, Elena Tablada.fr:David Bisbal
