Dallas is a city located in Paulding County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 5,056. Census Estimates of 2003 indicate a population of 6,847. The city is the county seat of Paulding CountyTemplate:GR. It was named for George M. Dallas, Vice President of the United States of America under James K. Polk.

Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 5,056 people, 2,014 households, and 1,303 families residing in the city. The population density is 432.8/km² (1,120.7/mi²). There are 2,150 housing units at an average density of 184.1/km² (476.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 85.78% White, 10.13% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.79% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.89% from other races, and 2.20% from two or more races. 2.04% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,014 households out of which 37.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.0% are married couples living together, 16.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.3% are non-families. 30.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.43 and the average family size is 3.01.
