DJ Danger Mouse (real name Brian Burton) is a producer and DJ who came to prominence in 2004 by remixing the Beatles' White Album and rapper Jay-Z's Black Album to make The Grey Album.
EMI, which releases Beatles records, has served cease and desist orders, due to copyright infringement, to the DJ, record shops stocking it and web sites (http://www.waxy.org/archive/2004/02/11/danger_m.shtml) which offered downloads of it. An Internet protest called Grey Tuesday followed. The Grey Album also won Entertainment Weekly's album of 2004 award and DM won a Wired Magazine Rave Award for his significant contributions to the music world in 2005.
Before the release of The Grey Album, Danger Mouse had a critically acclaimed album with rapper Jemini entitled Ghetto Pop Life, which was released in 2003 on Lex Records.
In 2005 he produced the second album by the Gorillaz, Demon Days, and has plans to work again with Damon Albarn.
