Cushing is a city located in Payne County, Oklahoma. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 8,371.

The racial makeup of the city is 79.66% White, 7.02% African American, 7.97% Native American, 0.13% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.90% from other races, and 4.32% from two or more races. 2.70% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
