Chansey, known as Lucky (ラッキー Rakkī) in the original Japanese, is a fictional character from the Pokémon franchise. It is obtainable in every game except Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Pokémon Colosseum. It evolves into Blissey when it becomes sufficiently happy.
Chansey is a oval-shaped, pink Pokémon with many flabs of flesh along its sides. It has a marsupial-like pouch in which it always keeps a Pokémon egg. Because of their healing powers, Chansey in the Pokémon television series are usually seen in Pokémon Centers, aiding the resident Nurse Joy.
Name Origin
Chansey is mostly likely a deliberate misspelling of "chancy," referring to the popular belief that this Pokémon brings luck to its owner. The original Japanese name comes from the English word "Lucky."
