Chadstone is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Its Local Government Area is the City of Monash. It is most famous for the Chadstone Shopping Centre, which is touted as "Australia's Fashion Capital" due the high concentration of clothing and fashion related stores within the mall. Other landmarks include the Waverley Basketball Centre, Jordanville Community Centre and the Matthew Flinders Hotel. Scotchman's Creek runs along Chadstone's southern boundary, the Glen Waverley railway line along the northern boundary, and the Monash Freeway runs through the suburb.
Chadstone is a small suburb, with parts previously known as Chadstone being rezoned to be incorporated into Malvern East (including the shopping centre). The current Chadstone locality incorporates an area formerly known as Jordanville (even though Jordanville Station is technically in Mount Waverley).
Chadstone was home to Jordanville South Primary School which closed down at the end of the school year in 1993. It was also home to the Waverley Road Campus of Mount Waverley Secondary College (this campus previously Waverley High School) which closed down in 1996.
