Bill Graham (born Wolfgang Grajonca January 8, 1931 in Berlin, Germany - October 25, 1991) was a well known concert promoter, beginning in the 1960s. Orphaned during the Holocaust, he was adopted by an American family.
As a concert promoter he operated the well known venues the Fillmore West and Winterland (both in San Francisco) and the Fillmore East (in New York City). He was also instrumental in commissioning and marketing psychedelic concert posters by designers including Wes Wilson and Rick Griffin. Graham occasionally appeared as an actor in films, including Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now. He was killed in a helicopter crash near Vallejo, California in 1991.
