Benedictine College

Benedictine College is a university in Atchison, Kansas. It is a Catholic, residential, liberal arts, Benedictine college and is located on bluffs overlooking the Missouri River. It is sponsored by St. Benedict's Abbey and Mount St. Scholastica.
Undergraduate programs include Astronomy, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Music, Biology, Computer Science, Math and Physics. Masters degree programs include Education and Business.
Its predecessors were Mount St. Scholastica College and St. Benedict's College, which merged on July 1, 1971.
The Nobel Peace Prize laureate Wangari Maathai studied at the Mount from 1960 to 1964.
The school's sports teams wearing black, red, and white uniforms are called Ravens. St. Benedict is usually pictured with a raven.
